We would like to assure you that the recent spread of this epidemic in India has not affected our functioning in any way. We have a paperless office and all our colleagues are equipped to work remotely. As a responsible organization, we are practicing social distancing at this time and all our members are operating from their respective homes.
Regarding the Indian IP offices and courts, we would like to provide you the following updates:
- All trademark hearing matters scheduled between March 17, 2020 and April 15, 2020 have been adjourned and will be rescheduled soon. However, all hearings slated for the period post April 15, 2020 remain as scheduled. We will notify you if there are any changes to this.
- As regards patent hearing matters, these are currently being conducted through video conferencing. If there is any change in the same, we will update you.
- The Intellectual Property Appellate Board has rescheduled all hearings except urgent ones scheduled between March 16, 2020 till March 31, 2020.
- Supreme Court of India, most High Courts and several subordinate courts in India are taking up urgent matters only. Delhi High Court has already adjourned all cases listed between 17th March to 20th March 2020 to mid-April. Other High Courts and subordinate courts are also expected to reschedule the hearings. This trend is expected to continue till return of normalcy.
